Personal data sharing discussion forum

You are visiting a discussion forum for people working in public services who are enthusiastic about making progress in the area of personal data sharing and who would like to share their ideas and learn from others.

Communities and Local Government (CLG) has commissioned OPM and the Local Futures Group to look at the benefits of sharing personal data across local strategic partnerships (LSPs), as well as the challenges involved in doing this and how they might be overcome.

We have undertaken a piece of research, using interviews, workshops and an online survey to hear the views of people involved in data sharing initiatives.  Our research participants to date have included those involved at a strategic partnership level (for example, LSP partnership managers), those involved in performance or strategy (for example, strategy and transformation service heads) and those involved in designing and delivering data sharing initiatives (for example, IT managers and information officers).

There are different types of personal data.  For the purposes of this study, we have divided them into four types: you can read about these in the attached PDF

If you would like to know more about the research project, please email Ellie Brodie
