Setting up new schools

Parents’ groups, local organisations, local schools and charitable companies are all becoming involved in settting up new schools under new legislation to encourage greater diversity of school providers. The government Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) has commissioned OPM to support the competitions for new schools.

We have been facilitating public meetings where interested parties can discuss and respond to the proposals being put forward for new schools in their local area.

Local people were invited to comment on the proposals. Brochures, which summarise the proposals and reports of some of the meetings, are available below.
